Project GLAD® Foundations
Project GLAD® Foundations Certification Training is a 6-Day Professional Development consisting of two parts:
- Part 1- Research and Theory Workshop (2 days)
- Part 2- Demonstration Lesson & Planning (4 days)
All six days are required to receive certification in OCDE Project GLAD® Foundations. The OCDE Project GLAD® Foundations Training is available to anyone in the profession of education.
OCDE Project GLAD® Foundations Training
The Project GLAD® training model combines research and theory and classroom demonstrations with guided teacher practice and planning time. During the Research and Theory Workshop, participants dialogue and learn with other professionals about the research that supports the model and also gain exposure to approximately thirty effective teaching strategies. In the Classroom Demonstration participants observe students utilizing the strategies with a Project GLAD® trainer while an OCDE Project GLAD® coach facilitates a deeper understanding of the strategies. During the afternoons of the demonstration, participants engage in meaningful conversations and begin planning and preparing materials to use in their classroom right away to effectively support application and implementation.
